Charity Rides

White Rose Thunder® will offer Poker Runs again this year.  All rides will offer the opportunities to enjoy beautiful scenery throughout south-central Pennsylvania, to benefit some great causes, and to win some money too. Sign ups will occur beginning at 9 am at the tent outside of interior Gate B of the Expo Center. The Poker Runs will cost $10 per hand played. Best hand wins a maximum of $150. Second best hand wins wins a maximum of $100. And the net proceeds go to charity. We are determining charities for this year’s event now.

One such charity will be Hoffman Homes for Youth – a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility utilizing trauma-informed care to treat children with a serious mental health diagnosis. Through the implementation of the Sanctuary Model, The Hoffman Homes are creating organizational policies and implementing specific tools that create a therapeutic culture. The Sanctuary Model addresses the ways in which trauma, adversity, or chronic stress influence individual behavior and entire organizations. www.hoffmanhomes.com

2013 WRTAnd on Sunday, September 29, 2013, there will be a Charity Ride to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  The 1st Pennsylvania Chapter of the Defenders Motorcycle Club will be conducting its 2nd annual charity ride for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Check in for the ride is at 9am, and the ride starts at 10am.  Registration is $10 per rider and $5 per passenger.

An LLS Supporter Wristband and White Rose Thunder limited edition event patch will be given to all who register for this ride, which will offer good fun, great scenery, and an important cause.
